Overnight Guest Service Agent

Hotel Arts is currently seeking an enthusiastic Overnight Guest Service Agent to provide professional and friendly service while actively seeking out opportunities to assist all guests, ensuring a memorable first and last impression of Hotel Arts. This position will also assist in maintaining the safety of the premises overnight for guests and staff alike.


Here are a few main tasks this key role will be responsible for:

  • Perform regular rounds of hotel, parkade and retail space and ensure vulnerable areas are secured
  • Assisting the Night Audit team in evicting undesirable individuals from hotel or surrounding property, contacting Calgary Police Service as required
  • Completing a nightly checklist in a timely fashion, including both Guest Services and safety-related duties
  • Assist the Night Audit team with responding to noise complaints
  • Assist guests with instructions/minor repairs to in-room equipment and amenities
  • Preparing and delivering overnight Food and Beverage Room Service orders
  • Promptly delivering items to guest rooms as required
  • Educate guests about hotel property and amenities, using the tools and training provided
  • Be knowledgeable of surrounding region, services and amenities, in order to handle concierge inquiries accurately 
  • Ensure any special requests from guests are completed in a timely manner
  • Manage the front drive efficiently and effectively and in line with established standards
  • Follow emergency response procedures as they pertain to the front drive in the event of an emergency. Assist the Night Audit team where needed in the event of an emergency.
  • Valet park vehicles in a safe manner and in line with established standards
  • Maintain the proper physical appearance of the front drive, entrance, and lobby, communicating with housekeeping and maintenance departments as required
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and read email/log book to ensure you are familiar with daily activities and group/guest information
  • Communicate key information to appropriate departments and colleagues
  • Be familiar with and practice all Standard Operating Procedures as they pertain to your department

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Flexible schedule is essential. Must be available to work overnight from 11p-7am, weekday, weekend and holiday work is required. We are a 24/7 operation in service to our guests.
  • 1-2+ Years’ Experience in Front Office Operations, Housekeeping or Rooms in a Hotel or resort setting required. Other relevant hospitality industry experience may be considered.
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management preferred.
  • Valid Alberta Pro-Serve Certification required
  • Valid Drivers License required, with ability to operate a standard transmission. 
  • Microsoft Office product knowledge required.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate an extreme asset.
  • Knowledge in Opera or other Hotel Property Management Systems an asset.

Please note that this is a Full Time position. The typical shifts will occur from Tuesday to Saturday overnight.
